Vichy - Normaderm Series (For Acne-Prone Skin Type)

I actually heard this brand from magazines for quite some times already. But that time we couldn't get it in Malaysia. So when my friend told me that.. Vichy was having promotion in Singapore, I asked her to buy the basic care of Normaderm Series for me as I have Acne-Prone skin type.

And here's my comment for the products based on my experience.

1) Normaderm Deep Cleansing Gel (150ML)

Description :- This is the cleanser to unblock pores, cleans and purifies deep down. Ideal for imperfection-prone skin: blocked pores, uneven skin texture, localised shine, redness, dilated pores. Ultra-fresh, gelified texture. Thick and creamy easy-rinse lather. Ultra-clear skin sensation. A pure, herbal note and a fresh, floral note.

Main Ingredients :- Glycolic and Salicylic acid; Astringent witch hazel; Vichy Thermal Spa Water.

Comment :- Although this cleanser is gel type, but it is thick and smells good. Unlike other cleanser, you will feel your skin become very smooth after rinse-off with water. But sometimes you might still thinking that your skin is not clean enough. So tends to repeat the step again and it still won't make your skin dry. Overall.. quite good.

2) Normaderm Purifying Astringent Toner (200ML)

Description :- This is the toner to eliminate impurities, visibly tightens pores for a more even skin texture.

Main Ingredients :- Glycolic and Salicylic acid; Vichy Thermal Spa Water.

Comment :- Very strong alcohol smell. Make my skin red and sensitive. And, doesn't feel comfortable after apply it on my face. I cannot bear it until I apply my moisturizer.

Rated :- 2/10

3) Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care (50ML)

Description :- This is the moisturizer to visibly clear imperfections, tightens pores, evens out skin texture. Fibre-based technology for an ultra-soft skin result. Light hydrating texture with long-lasting 'velvety skin' effect. Easily absorbed, non-sticky, non-greasy.

Main Ingredients :- Zincadone A [keratolytic glycolic acid + anti-bacterial glycadone + Dermostim]; Astringent witch hazel; Vichy Thermal Spa Water.

Comment :- This is the first time I use fibre type moisturizer. It's really very fast absorbed, you don't feel it at all. It gives the skin a matte finish for a day. Although it stated 'Non comedogenic', but due to it's fibre type texture, seems like it would block pores in order to protect the pores from external harm.

Rated :- 7/10

Conclusion :- After using it for few days, breakouts start coming out more and more. After using it for 2 week, cannot stand for it anymore due to the breakouts getting out of control already. Can't wait to go salon for facial.

I think the main reason is the toner with a lot of alcohol which make my skin very sensitive, and the moisturizer which really clog and congest my pores. So, I don't use the toner anymore. I have to mix and match with other toner. Also seldom use the moisturizer. But whenever I apply this moisturizer, I will definitely use make-up removal end of the day.

Others Biotherm Products

Besides Biotherm Acnopur+ Series, I also use others biotherm skincare products to complete my needs. And here's my comment for the products based on my experience.

1) Biopur Melting Moisturizing Matifying Fluid SPF 15

Description :- This new skincare product offers effective performance in 4 ways: it gives the skin a matte finish, it tightens the pores, it refreshes and soothes the skin and enhances make-up hold. In order to achieve all this, the formula, composed of the Acti-Mineral complex, white clay and soothing Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton, is associated with microspheres of silica to combat sebum. Finally, to take performance even further, the formula benefits from a technology until now used only in make-up formulas: Color Fix. Color Fix is a polymer that, due to its exceptional physical-chemical surface properties, fixes colour and offers all the effectiveness of a real make-up base. One single gesture, 4 visible results: the skin looks matte, the pores are tightened, the skin is hydrated and soothed and make-up is fixed for a period of 8 hours. Hour after hour, the skin stays matte and pure.

Main Ingredients :- Acti-Mineral Complex (copper + zinc); White clay; Hydrating agent (glycerine); Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton (soothing); UVB filters

Comment :- I am actually very sensitive with the moisturizer with SPF. Not only greasy, but also make my face itchy, prompting out some red dots. But this one is totally different. It tightens the pores and gives the skin a matte finish for a day (as long as don't go under hot sun for too long). Maybe the particles are smaller, and it's water soluble, it doesn't greasy and won't clog pores. Great~!!

2) White Detox Bio – A [2] Ultra- Whitening Detoxifying Essence

Comment :- I absolutely love this whitening essence very much. The whitening result is quite obvious, especially after a soundly sleep overnight. It's not pale white, I look so energetic in the morning and notice the acne scars are visibly reduced. Great~!!

Biotherm Acnopur+ Series (Tri-Active System)

Last year October.. I went to a warehouse sales and bought the whole series of Biotherm Acnopur+ skincare products. And here's my comment for the products based on my experience.

1) Acnopur+ Pore Unclogging Purifying Foam

Description :- This is the cleanser to gently and
effectively removes make-up and cleanses all impurities from skin surface. It helps to prevent the formation of bacteria and keep it from spreading - to keep blemishes at bay!

Main Ingredients :- Triclosan; Copper and Zinc; Kaolin (white clay) and Montmorillonite; Witch hazel; Salicylic acid; Cleansing agents.

Comment :- I think this cleanser is very mild, white in colour (texture like clay), and with comfortable herbal smell. I don't get the feeling of dryness. Just clean and comfortable. But I don't think it's enough to removes make-up. Recommended to use make-up remover before using the cleanser.

2) Acnopur+ Clarifying Exfoliating Lotion

Description :- This toning lotion is a fresh and light-weight water-based toner that helps to cleanse face perfectly, reduce pore size and matify the skin. Prepares skin to receive the Acnopur+ Moisturizing Regulating Gel or Acnopur+ Intensive Night Treatment.

Main Ingredients :- Triclosan; Copper and Zinc; Kaolin (white clay) and Montmorillonite; Salicylic acid; Vectorised Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton.

Comment :- This toner consists of alcohol inside. But I don't really feel the alcohol at all. Maybe the amount of alcohol inside is not so much. So my face won't feel dry or itchy when applying it. By the way, skin matifying effect is not obvious.

3) Acnopur+ Moisturizing Regulating Gel

Description :- This gel type moisturizer is an ultra-gentle, refreshing. It reduces blemishes, moisturizes skin and mattifies and absorbs excess sebum throughout the day.

Main Ingredients :- Triclosan; Copper and Zinc; Kaolin (white clay); Vectorised salicylic acid; Glycerol; Vectorised Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton.

Comment :- I don't feel greasy at all after using this moisturizer. But one thing i aware is.. it doesn't comes with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) in it. So might need to apply another moisturizer with SPF protection. By the way, skin matifying effect is still ok.

4) Acnopur+ Intensive Night Treatment

Description :- This non-oily gel moisturizer is designed to treat intensively to reduce blemishes and the appearance of pores at night, when your cell metabolism is 3 times more active. Skin renewal is immediately observed the next morning.

Main Ingredients :- Triclosan; Copper and Zinc; Kaolin (white clay); Vectorised salicylic acid; Hydroxyproline; Vectorised Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton.

Comment :- I don't feel greasy at all also for this moisturizer. Yet, I feel a bit of cooling effect on my face. Maybe there's mint inside the product. It is ok for me overall. But I actually expect more.. from Night Cream/Gel Product.

5) Acnopur+ SOS Anti-Blemishes Gel

Description :- This highly concentrated emergency gel, dries out blemishes quickly without leaving any acne marks. With PETP extract, it also helps to reduce inflammation and redness on skin problem areas.

Main Ingredients :- Triclosan; Copper and Zinc; Kaolin (white clay); Salicylic acid; Vectorised Pure Extract of Thermal Plankton.

Comment :- It works very well for my back and body. But I think it doesn't help much on my face. *sigh*

Conclusion :- For people who has Blemish-Prone skin, this is enough for daily use to maintain your skin by preventing the formation of bacteria which cause problems comes back. But if you're already have acne problem, this is not a good solution for you~!!
